We are a team of seven licensed insurance agents with over 102 years of combined experience selling GEICO insurance as well as policies from nine other insurance companies.

James Boley
Owner, Licensed Insurance Agent
James Boley, owner of the GEICO Local Office worked for GEICO corporate for 26 years before opening his own Local Office in Lakeland in 2020.
James is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Desert Storm. He is also an avid Steelers fan that loves mountain biking and playing golf and pickleball. Married to Michelle for 23 years, he is the proud father to two daughters who attend USF and FAU.
Shawn Allen
Licensed Insurance Agent
Shawn Allen has worked for GEICO for eight years and joined Boley Insurance in 2020. He was born in Detroit, grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, and served in the Air Force for six years.
Shawn loves bowling and working on home projects.
Married to his wife, Amy, for 15 years, they are the proud parents of two beautiful girls.
Jaime Irizarry
Licensed Insurance Agent
Jaime Irizarry (pronounced Hi-May) has worked for GEICO for 16 years and joined Boley Insurance in 2020. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Jaime is a U.S. Army Veteran.
He’s a huge Yankees fan and has never met an ice cream he doesn’t like.
He hates vegetables but loves selling insurance!

Caren Tran
Licensed Insurance Agent
Caren Tran has worked for GEICO for 15 years. She has the distinction of being Boley Insurance’s only Lakeland-native team member. Plus, at 6′ tall, Caren is officially the tallest member of Team Boley!
She loves (like really loves) Christmas, Taylor Swift, the beach, and reading psychological thrillers.
Caren loves traveling the world with her husband of 11 years and her son and daughter.
Paolo Vargas
Licensed Insurance Agent
Paolo Vargas worked for GEICO for 16 years before joining Boley Insurance in 2020. Born in Peru, Paolo grew up in New Jersey but has lived in Florida for 18 years.
This avid runner completes numerous half-marathons every year, including Gasparilla.
Paolo married his high school sweetheart and has three kids and two granddaughters.

Gene Wortsman
Licensed Insurance Agent
Gene Wortsman has worked for GEICO for 17 years. Born in Washington, D.C., Gene has lived in the Tampa Bay area since 1985.
During his spare time, Gene loves playing golf and poker, and trying new restaurants.
This proud University of Florida alum has been married to his wife for 34 years and is a devoted dad to his daughter, Sam.
Michelle Boley
Licensed Insurance Agent
Michelle Boley co-owns Boley Insurance with her husband, James. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she moved to Florida in 1986.
The UCF alum loves football, college basketball, and hockey. During her spare time, she plays pickleball, hosts game nights, plays trivia, and attends live theater and concerts.
Michelle is an avid world traveler and hiker who counts Iceland, Costa Rica, Croatia, and Switzerland as her favorite places she’s visited.
The Significance of the Swan
Most folks know that Lakeland, Florida, is known as Swan City. The swan is our city’s logo and mascot, and swans can be found all over town! So, using a swan in the logo for our Lakeland-based business was a natural fit.
But we also chose the swan to represent Boley Insurance because SWAN is a financial acronym that stands for Sleep Well At Night. According to Business and Leadership magazine, “swan stocks” are high-quality, low-risk stocks that help investors “sleep well at night” knowing that their investments are in secure, stable companies.
